Its Monday, and its another beautiful day.\u00a0 The weekend was gorgeous,\u00a0 low 80’s with a breeze.\u00a0 The weeks just past have each had a progression of both cool and hot days.\u00a0 Occassionally we get some rain, but for the most part its been pretty dry.\u00a0 The forecast for the coming week is for higher than normal temperatures, possibly in the tripple digits.\u00a0 I’m not going to be happy about that.<\/p>\n
The sweet peas are still covered with flowers and smell fabulous.\u00a0 The red leaf lettuce is probably no longer useable.\u00a0 Not only have the plants bolted but the remaining leaves are wilting and rotting from underneath.\u00a0 The kohlrabi bulbs have grown to gigantic proportions.\u00a0 I’m still harvesting them but spend more time peeling the outer skin before cooking,\u00a0 just in case.\u00a0 I haven’t really noticed any change to woodiness.\u00a0 Lots of green tomatoes, but\u00a0only a couple are actually starting to color now.\u00a0 The zuchini is growing like gangbusters and so is the spaghetti squash.\u00a0 Had both for dinner over the weekend.\u00a0 I’ll need to find a recipe for zuchini bread soon to make use of the enormous five pound zuchini’s that were tucked away under leaves and allowed to grow beyond their optimal size.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
